About this project
The Maldives coral reef system is one of the most biodiverse marine environments on Earth — and one of the most threatened. Rising ocean temperatures have caused widespread coral bleaching, with over 60% of local reefs impacted in the last decade.
Our team of marine biologists plants lab-grown coral fragments onto degraded reef structures. Each fragment is tracked with an embedded ID tag, allowing donors to follow the growth journey of specific corals they've funded.
Phase 1 covers 5 reef sites across North Malé Atoll. We target 10,000 coral fragments planted by December 2026, with ongoing monitoring through underwater camera networks.
